My husband's great-grandfather, Thomas Henry Follett, was born in Bishop's Lydeard in 1859. His parents were Richard Follett and Marianne (Mary Ann) Newton. Beyond that, I haven't been able to verify definite information. I went to the tea shop before this and sat in the church grounds and thought how nice it was to be able to sit and look at the church and what a lovely use of part of the pretty grounds without encroaching on the churchyard itself. It is a lovely attraction for passing visitors as well as locals such as myself. Service friendly and quick. Food and real ales first class, and cost reasonable. Will use again when in the area.
